The Duffle Bag Sewing Pattern

The Duffle Bag is a zipped barrel bag designed for confident beginners. It comes in 2 sizes, Small and Large, with two webbing handles, a front pocket and a pocket on each round end.

It is a practical, versatile bag that can be made for the gym, a swim kit, a sleepover or day out, or simply used as a handbag or fashion accessory.

Pattern features include:

• Two sizes: Small and Large
• Zipped barrel-style construction
• Two webbing handles

• One pocket on each round end
• Optional quilting
• Two handle-length options: shorter handbag style or longer gym-bag style
• Bound inside seams for a neat finish

Finished sizes:

• Small: approximately 12 5/8 in long × 6 in across (32 × 15 cm)
• Large: approximately 16 in long × 8 in across (40.5 × 20 cm)

Skill level: Confident beginner.

You will need outer fabric, inner fabric, wadding or fleece, cotton webbing, a zip, thread, clips or pins, scissors, a ruler, an iron, a sewing machine and a zip foot.
